APS sends e-mails to its members often, but you may not be receiving them. To ensure that you receive APS e-mails, add APS to your e-mail white list. What is a white list? It is a list of e-mail addresses that you create to tell your e-mail provider that those senders are acceptable and that any messages from people on that list should be sent directly to your e-mail inbox.
Some Internet service providers (ISPs) have white lists that they use to filter e-mail to be delivered to their customers. ISPs receive requests from legitimate companies to add their company to the ISP white list of companies.
If a white list is exclusive, only e-mail from those on the white list will be delivered. If it is not exclusive, it prevents e-mail from being deleted or sent to the junk mail folder by the spam filter.
If you’re not sure how to add an e-mail address or sender’s name to your e-mail white list, contact your ISP for information or contact your institution’s or office’s network administrator. He or she will be able to add APS as a contact easily. There are many resources on the Internet that also can provide step-by-step instructions. Each e-mail provider or ISP is different, so it’s important that you find information specific to your e-mail service.
A few ISPs deliver e-mail messages to the Junk or Spam folder and you may miss important e-mails if the sender’s name or address isn’t on your white list. Be sure to check your Junk or Spam folder often for APS e-mails that you may not be receiving directly in your inbox. One way to be sure you receive APS E-News each month is to add mrutkowski@connect2amc.com to your e-mail contact list.
There are many other e-mail and ISP providers, and each has a unique way of classifying e-mails from particular senders. If you are not receiving APS E-News or other APS e-mails, please contact an APS representative at 847/375-4715.
