Important Information

The cut-off date for hotel reservations is April 6, 2007.
A block of rooms is reserved for the “APS Annual Scientific Meeting” at the group rate. Once the room block is full, higher rates may apply.
All reservations must be guaranteed to a credit card or via check deposit for one night’s room rate and tax.
Room cancellations must be received 72 hours prior to your scheduled date of arrival, in order to avoid a one night’s room and tax cancellation fee.
For room block requests of five (5) or more rooms an advance payment of three (3) nights room and tax will be required. This advance payment is refundable up to 4/1/2007.

Hotel Update:

The cutoff date for the APS negotiated conference rates has passed. Rooms are being offered at the host hotels on a room/rate available basis.

Airlines

APS is pleased to announce that it has been able to secure a special discount agreement with United Airlines unavailable to the general public.

To book your reservations on-line, United is offering a 10% discount on selected flights on United.com. Reservations, schedule and ticketing information may be obtained at United’s Web Site by referencing our Electronic Certificate number 565HG. Discounts apply on United Airlines, United Express and TED qualifying flights. You will also receive 1,000 bonus Mileage Plus miles for booking on-line.

After you link to United.com, select create itinerary, login as a guest or registered user, enter your origin and destination, travel dates and your electronic certificate number; then the available flights will be displayed. Flights that qualify for the discount will be clearly identified with a green star symbol, which means that the itinerary is “electronic certificate eligible.” When you select an electronic certificate eligible flight your discounted fare will automatically be calculated.

You or your travel agent may contact the United MeetingsPlus reservation service to get special fares on United (discounted up to 10%). Book your travel today, as arrangements must be made 30 days in advance of the official meeting dates. If you are a member of United’s Mileage Plus program, you will receive credit for all miles flown.

Taxi/Shuttle Transportation

There are three major airports in the Capital Region; all are within 35 miles of Washington, DC. Shuttle vans and taxis will take you between downtown Washington and all three airports. Amtrak train service is available between Baltimore-Washington Airport and Washington. Duration times range from 30 minuets to 1 hour and fees range from $12 to $35.

For those that are attending the APS 26th Annual Scientific Meeting located at the Washington DC Convention Center, complimentary transportation will be departing the Hyatt Regency Crystal City at 4pm on Wednesday, May 2nd to transport attendees and their luggage to either the Grand Hyatt Washington or Renaissance Washington, DC Hotel for the duration of their stay in Washington.
