The Psychosocial Research SIG is an interdisciplinary group of clinicians and researchers interested in psychosocial aspects of pain, including cognitive, emotional, social, and behavioural domains, as well as factors that influence adaptation to the experience of persistent pain. The SIG has a strong membership base with a range of different experiences and expertise. A SIG meeting is held yearly at the APS annual meeting.
All trainees, including post-doctoral fellows, who have had a posted accepted for presentation at the annual APS meeting are eligible to apply for the award. The winner will be asked to give a 10 minute presentation, followed by a short question-and-answer period, at the Psychosocial SIG meeting on their research, as well as have their achievement recognized formally.
A call for applications will be sent out approximately 8 weeks before the annual meeting via the Psychosocial SIG eGroup. In addition, interested applicants may contact the SIG co-chairs directly to request an application.
